Bansuri Flutes (Bamboo Flutes)
Binod Katuwal is a bansuri flute player, multi-instrumentalist, and educator in Kathmandu, Nepal. With nearly two decades of professional experience, he has established himself as a dedicated performer and teacher, collaborating with both local ensembles and international artists across a wide range of musical traditions.
Rooted in the expressive tradition of the Indian (Nepali) bamboo flute, known as the bansuri, Binod brings a distinctive voice to contemporary world music. In addition to bansuri, he performs on percussion, didgeridoo, ukulele, and incorporates overtone singing into his work. His artistry centers on world fusion, where he seamlessly integrates the bansuri into diverse global styles, bridging cultures through sound. As both a performer and educator, he continues to share his musical knowledge and craft with communities around the world.
